WHAT IS A POWDER BROW?

it is a cosmetic semi permanent makeup technique designed to create eyebrows with soft powder effect, very similar to powder makeup.

AM I CONSIDERED A POWDER BROW CLIENT?

The great news is that powdered Brows are great for all skin types -oily skin, dry skin, normal to combination skin.

Because powder brows are a machine technique we we are able to precisely implant pigment in the right level of in the skin, called the dermal junction, with very minimal trauma to the skin.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Depending on your skin, health and if you come for touchup refreshers, your tattoo will last 2-5 years

Here are some factors will cause your permanent makeup to fade faster:
Oily skin
Retinol or Vitamin C
Iron deficiency
Sun exposure
Exfoliants

Exposure to salt water

DOES IT HURT?

It is slightly uncomfortable but completely bearable. The tattooing process lasts about an hour and a half. 
Brooke uses numbing and her technique is extremely gentle.
DO NOT take Advil or drink a coffee/alcohol 24 hours before your appointment.
Coffee and Advil will cause you to bleed lots and also make you more sensitive during the procedure.

HOW TO PREP?

  • Ensure you are not on accutane for 12 months prior to your session

  • Avoid waxing three days prior and tinting 2 weeks prior

  • Avoid getting Botox, fillers and or facial peels for a minimum of two weeks prior

  • Must not be using any retinols, hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid or other AHAs two weeks prior

  • To avoid being turned away from your appointment ensure you are not sunburnt and have stayed out of direct sun for two weeks prior

  • Must not be pregnant or nursing

  • Must be ages 18+

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR BROW TATTOO?

  • For the first 6-12 hours immediately after your appointment, before you go to sleep, you must blot your permanent make up every 30-40 mins with a baby wipe to absorb any lymph fluid an reduce the risk of lower retention

  • Do NOT touch, pick or scratch your fresh brows,

  • Lightly wash your brows, twice a day (morning and night) with cleanser provided or cetaphil. Lathered onto clean fingers,  dab through brows. Dab with water and blot to dry. Continue this until brows scab over (about day 7/8 for brows) 

  • Apply ointment (half a grain of rice between both brows) ensuring brows are completely dry before application. 

  • Keep brows dry and out of immediate water flow

  • Avoid saunas, heavy exercise, dust and application of make up

  • Avoid direct sunlight during healing ensuring you have a hat covering your fresh permanent make up. Once healed apply SPF with zinc always to prevent early fading

    All clients leave with detailed aftercare cards with instructions pertaining to the service received

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POWDER, OMBRE, AND COMBO?

All three techniques are a machine technique

Ombre brows are a form of a powdered brow however the tail of the brow has more pigment than the front of the brow causing an Ombre effect. This is the most natural technique that gives you the structure of a powdered brow with a soft pixelated front.

Combo brows is a machine technique were the fronts of the brows have hair strokes and the remainder of the brow being powdered in. This is ideal for clients lacking hair in the fronts of the hair where we need to fill in some gaps without over saturating the front of the brow. This technique is not ideal for clients with oily skin (larger pores) as it will fade a lot quicker than a powdered front.

Microblading is a MANUAL technique using a blade to slice hair strokes into the brow. This technique can cause more trauma than a machine technique like above and will fade for most clients. Because of this, it is not currently a service we offer.

If you have previous work from another artist please book in for a consultation prior as you are not considered a touch up, or annual refresh client to peppered with pigments.
